Fastpacking is trail running + backpacking. We travel ultra light so we can run the downhills and flats, and hike the uphills. You need to be able to run/hike at an easy pace starting at 10 miles/day. We run the downhill and flats, and powerhike the uphills.

For a 2 night trip, you will need to pack:
2 breakfasts
3 lunches/snacks to eat on the go all day
2 suppers
(I am a small woman and pack about 3,000 calories/day.)
Food Stuff
*Note: I enjoy a hot breakfast and supper, so I pack a cook stove, fuel canister, and lighter. You can skip some of these items if you'd prefer to cold soak your food.
spork
pot (I have the TOAKS Titanium 750ml pot)
small fuel canister
pocket rocket
Bic mini lighter
water filtration system. (I used the Sawyer Squeeze and have backup tablets. Katydin works too.)
bottles to hold water (I use 2 x 20 oz Nathan soft flasks. The water is quiet when you run since they shrink as you sip.)
Food Ideas
I'll share ideas and examples on this once you register.
